AMH set to host C3 Bahrain ‘Davos of Healthcare’ Summit

THE first-ever C3 Bahrain ‘Davos of Healthcare’ Summit is set to kick off later this month in the kingdom, and is anticipated to attract medical leaders, government officials and business executives.

Hosted by the American Mission Hospital (AMH) and organised by C3 Summit International, the two-day event, taking place on April 21 and 22, is being held under the theme, ‘The Evolution of Global Healthcare’.

“We are honoured to be the organising hosts of the C3 Healthcare Summit in recognition of the newly-opened King Hamad American Mission Hospital in Manama, Bahrain,” AMH corporate chief executive and chief medical officer Dr George Cheriyan noted.

“The hospital’s mission is to provide the most advanced healthcare and medical services to our country and people.

“C3 represents a perfect partner for this international gathering of leaders from Bahrain and the region to share their knowledge and the latest advances in medicine and healthcare delivery.”

The summit will feature a distinguished speaker list, including representatives from renowned institutions like the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Harvard Medical School and regional leaders from Mubadala Healthcare and Amana Healthcare.

In addition, key discussions are planned with officials from the Health Ministry and Supreme Council for Health (SCH), offering a platform for both international and regional perspectives.

The two-day-long event will kick off with welcoming remarks by SCH chairman Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, C3 Summit International founder and managing partner Ransel Potter and Dr Cheriyan.

“This C3 Davos of Healthcare Summit will provide a unique opportunity for speakers and attendees to identify major healthcare challenges and cutting-edge solutions,” explained Mr Potter.

“Healthcare diplomacy continues to be a major theme of the summit.”

Other key speakers and moderators at the conference will include Health Minister Dr Jalila Al Sayyed, Mayo Clinic chief executive Dr Gianrico Farrugia and retired White House Coronavirus Task Force 2020-21 member Dr Deborah Birx.

Building on over a decade of hosting international healthcare forums, Mr Potter’s firm aims to facilitate knowledge transfer and innovation within the healthcare sector.

The Bahrain summit specifically focuses on strengthening relations and fostering collaboration between the global community and the Arabian Gulf region.

Established in 2012 with former US president Bill Clinton as the inaugural keynote speaker, C3 has hosted more than 24 global summits. The organisation emphasises three core principles – community, collaboration and commerce.

These principles guide their mission to connect international leaders who influence healthcare diplomacy and relations between the US, the Middle East and the global community.

The connection between C3 and Bahrain is longstanding. In 2016, His Majesty King Hamad received the C3 Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2021, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, was presented with the C3 Leadership Award for Bahrain’s successful management of the Covid-19 pandemic.
